| Public Library, West LaFayette, Ind. - Oct. 2, 1923
The West Lafayette Public Library Board met in the Town Hall in regular session with all members present. The meeting was called to order by E. B. Vawter, president, after which the secretary's report was read and approved. Various members of the Board reported on the delinquents they were to have seen. After some discussion it was decided to continue our efforts by personal solicitation to secure the pledges these delinquents had made. Mr. Cunningham gave the following report for the financial committee.: Subscriptions received for West LaFayette Public Library from Sept. 5, 1923 to Oct. 2, 1923, inclusive:
Total received since last report – 39.63 Amount heretofore reported received – 2338.93 Total amount received to date – 2378.56 Amount heretofore turned over to Town Treas. - 2000.00 Balance on deposit in Bank – 378.56 Signed – J. B. Cunningham – Member of Finance Com.
The House Committee reported that it had placed an additional order for books to the value of about $100.00. Mr. Cunningham stated that he had certified to the County Auditor the Tax levy for the ensuing year. The following bills & salaries were allowed and ordered paid:
Total – 573.85
The librarian reported the follwing in regard to the contingent fund: Balance at first of month – 4.49 Receipts from files – 2.93 Total receipts – 7.42 Expenditures – 5.27 Balance on hand at end of mo. - 2.15 It was decided to pay the expenses of the librarian while attending the Library Conference to be held at French Lick on Oct. 10 to 12.
