The West LaFayette Library board met in regular session with the following members present – Mr. Burtsfield, Mr. Cunningham, Mr. Vawter & Mrs. McQueen. The following bills were allowed and ordered paid:
Of the contingent fund there was a balance of $12.20 fines collected 8.07 making a total of @20.27 and the expenses were $18.29 leaving a balance of $11.78. The Librarian was authorized to have a letter box placed on front door. The new International Encyclopedia, an order for which was favorably voted on at the last meeting was again discussed & it was decided to read this order at the April meeting to take advatange of the reduced price before April 10th. The Building & Grounds Com. Reported a small fine at the Library on the morning of March 2nd caused by improper [?] of the furnace. This Com. Was instructed to make necessary repairs & adjust the insurance with Ralph Adams. The plans for remodeling and utilizing the downstairs of the Library Building was discussed. Plans, specifications & a bed for the same was submitted by Mr. W. A. Immel. The matter was put to the Building & Grounds Com. For further plans & suggestions to be presented at next Board meeting.
