A special meeting of W. Lafayette Library Board was held July 28 with the following members present – Miss Shoemaker, Mrs. Price, Mr. Burtsfield, Mr. Cunningham & Mr. Vawter.

Mr. Cunningham & Mrs. Price reported budget for following year:

Total estimate – 2615.00

The estimate on the new building & equipment is but an approximation as it is not advanced sufficiently to get bids on many items. Completed it will probably cost between $2500 and $3000.00. Indebtedness for the amount will be incurred & your committee recommends that the September tax levy be increased from 5 cents to 7 cents on the $100.00 and that the increased levy of 2 cents be used only for the payment of our new addition & equipment.

Mr. Vawter made a partial report for house committee recommedning certain work in regard to north wall & stairway & the committee was ordered to proceed.
