The library board met with Vice Pres. Smith in the Chair. Other members present being Mrs. Price, Misters Burtsfield, Pierce and Vawter. The minutes of the December meeting were read and approved and bills in the amount of $227.93 were allowed.
On motion of Mr. Pierce the note at the Purdue State Bank in the sum of $100.00 was ordered paid. In the absence of a financial report from the city Treasurer the amount received by the December distribution was not known.
The librarian's report shows the number of books on the shelves to be 5448 and 192 books loaned in one day.
The fines collected during the month amounted to $8.85.
On motion of Mrs. Price the Library Bard went on record as favoring an appropriation of state funds fro the building of a permanent home for the state library and Historical Department and the Secretary was decided to voice this sentiment by letter to the governor and our several representatives in the general assembly.
This being the time for the annual election of officers the following were placed in nomination:
For President: W. R. Smith
On motion of Mrs. Price the nominations were closed and the secretary was declared to cast the vote of the Board for the nominees above named.
The board adjourned at 8-15 P.M.
