West Lafayette, Ind. March 5, 1929

The following members met in regular business session at 7:30 pm – Mrs. Price, Mr. Burtsfield, Mr. Vawter and President Smith in the Chair. Brief minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Bills to the amount f $294.59 were presented and allowed for payment. Mrs. Dickey reported Arthur Adams as temporarily employed as janitor and on motion of Mrs. Price the employment was made permanent. The pay to be at the rate of $13.50 per month. The house committee was requested to have the roof repaired and to secure a bid on decorating the Library rooms.

The President named the following persons to serve on the several standing committees:

Buildings and Grounds: E. B. Vawter – F. R. Burtsfield and Mrs. McQueen
Finance: F. R. Burtsfield, L. J. Pierce and E. B. Vawter
Books: Mrs. Price, Miss Shoemaker and Mrs. McQueen

The Librarian made the following report:

Number of books on shelves: 5372
Circulation for month: 2613
Number of borrowers: 1653
The fines amounted to: $9.25

The balance in Treasury following the allowance of current bills was shown to be $616.26.

It was suggested that the Librarian might arrange for her vacation in the month of May rather than at a later date if she preferred it.

The meeting stood adjourned at 8-30 P.M.
