April 5 – 1929 The Library Board convened at 7-30 P.M. with Pres. Smith and all other members of the Board present except Miss Shoemaker. The minutes of March 5th were read and approved as read. Bills in the sum of $249.73 were allowed and ordered paid. Also the bill of the Standard Distribution for [History] set $79.00 was ordered paid tho to be discounted 10%. The balance on hands as shown by the [reports] amounted to $609.53, The House Committee reported a bid for decorating the Library Room from M. C. [Fewlks] $135.40 which bid was laid over to a future meeting with a suggestion that other proposals be secured. The Librarian reported as follows: Volumes on shelves March 1st: 5395 The book committee reporting through Mrs. Price recommended that Harpers be added to the magazine list. Mrs. Price also reported a [?] from Lafayette [?] concerning a district meeting of Librarians and Trustees at Crawfordsville April 16- On motion of Mr. Burtsfield it was ordered that [?] be given the place of [?[ librarian formerly held by Mary Kemple. 8-30 P.M. and the board adjourned.
