October 7, 1930
Mr. Pierce, Mr. Vawter, Mr. Burtsfield, Mrs. McQueen and Mrs. Price and Mr. Smith met as a board to dispose of the monthly business of W. Laf. Library.
Bills amounting to $740.53 were allowed.
A motion carried making the janitor's salary $15.00 a month.
It was decided upon motion to close the children's department at six o'clock. On Oct. 1 – this department had been opened in its new quarters, taking in the entire second floor. The adult public had been invited and 50 responded. The Librarian and members of the Board received and light refreshments were served. Every age seemed greatly pleased with the improvements that had given us such an attractive children's room. Children's registration followed next day.
The opening of this room necessitated another assistant and Miss Eva Adams was engaged at 30c an hour.
It was moved and carried that Mrs. Dickey, our Librarian, be sent to Dayton to attend the interstate meeting of Librarians and Trustees.
