The West Lafayette Library Board met in regular session with all members present.
The minutes of Mar. 8th were read and approved. Bills totaling $297.91 were allowed and ordered paid.
After a short discussion a motion carried to increase the Assistant Librarian’s salary from 25 to 30 cents per hour.
Mr. Brewster submitted specifications for weather-stripping all window and doors at a summer price of $85.00. The building and grounds committee was instructed to investigate any estimated saving in fuel, and make recommendations at a later meeting.
Dr. Creek reported the Periodicals were renewed with but few changes.
The Librarian’s report showed:
5081 adult volumes
3316 juvenile volumes
8397 total volumes at the beginning of the month.
34 Books added by purchase
6 Books added by gift
A total of 4362 volumes circulated during 24 days for an average of 182 daily. 70% of which were fiction. There was an increase of 48 borrowes making a total of 2452.
The Bank Bal. showed $2359.74.
No further business the meeting adjourned.
