April 2, 1935
The West Lafayette Public Library Board met in regular session with all members present but Mrs. Yeager.
Mrs. Dickey read her monthly report. Often she had reminded us of the district meetings to be held at Kentland and Crawfordsville in May.
The library was open 26 days during the month and had a circulation of 4062 books – 1160 non-fiction and 2902 fiction.
There were 9564 books on the shelves. 65 were added during the month. There are 2860 borrowers, 1923 of these are adults.
There is a balance in the treasury of $1593.93
The report was accepted and ordered entered on the books.
There were no reports from committees, but Mrs. Dickey again asked that some attention be given to the addition of shelves.
Mr. Vawter moved that the question be referred to the House Committee. The motion was seconded and passed.
The list of magazines which Mrs. Dickey submitted to the Book Committee was approved and “Vogue” and “Scientific American” added. There was some discussion about adding “Fortune” but it was decided to leave it for further investigation.
The meeting adjourned for a social time with Mrs. Dickey as hostess.
