The West Lafayette Library Board met in regular session. Prof. Mason and Mrs. Yeager were absent.
The Vice Pres., Mr. Hamilton, presided.
The Finance Com. reported its decision in regard to the assistant librarian’s request for a vacation on pay. The decision was that her salary, for the present, remain as it is.
The librarian reported that the circulation is increasing, especially that of the children’s books. The teachers have furnished book lists and a number of new books on these lists have been ordered.
Some new shelves for boy’s and girl’s books are needed.
The librarian had an interview with the head of the C. C. C. camp, Mr. Julian, who suggested that books and reading matter be solicited from the public. The names of those wishing to donate are to be left with the librarian.
There was a circulation of 3214 books during the month. There were 29 new borrowers and 53 books added to the shelves.
There is a balance of $1393.14 in the library fund.
It was moved that the librarian and some member of the board attend the Librarian’s meeting at Indianapolis Oct. 23-25.
The motion was passed.
