Weekly Events

Preschool story times: Tuesday & Friday: 10:30 a.m.; Thursdays at 4:00 p.m.
Story times are for children ages 2 and older and their families or caregivers.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free; no registration.
Location: Children’s Activity Room

Please note:  There will be story times during the winter break for children ages 2 and older, except on Tuesday, December 26, and Tuesday, January 2, when the library  opens at noon.

Lap Sit every Monday at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. in the children’s activity room. This program is for babies, toddlers, and their parents or caregivers. Make new friends, listen to simple stories, and learn finger plays and songs with Miss Amanda.

Sunday, December 24th and Monday, December 25th: Library closed
Tuesday, December 26th: Open from 12:00 (noon) to 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 31st and Monday, January 1st: Library closed
Tuesday, January 2nd: Open from 12:00 (noon) to 8:00 p.m.

Special Programs for Families

Lego Builders Club
Saturday, December 2nd
(Please note: 1st Saturday of the month, not the 2nd!)
Time: 1 to 2:30 p.m. Location: Walnut & Elm Rooms

     Children in preschool through grade 6 will have the opportunity to build with the library’s collection of Lego blocks. Children who are 8 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. No fee or registration. Come and build and make new friends! Structures will be on display for 3 weeks in cases near the children’s area.

Winter Holidays Family Craft Day
Saturday, December 9th
11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Location: Walnut & Elm Rooms

     Bring your families to the library to make winter and December holiday crafts to decorate your homes. There will be samples, instructions, and supplies to make the crafts. No registration or fee. This event is for children of all ages, but an adult must stay with children who are 8 and younger.

Reading to the Dogs!
Saturday, December 16th
2 to 3 p.m., Walnut & Elm Rooms; For children ages 4 and older

     Dogs from Therapy Dogs International will be back and eager to listen to children read stories to them! Children may bring favorite books from home or choose books when they arrive at the library. Please note: Visitors, other than the parents and siblings of children who are reading to the dogs, are welcome to greet the dogs and talk to therapy dog team members only at 3 p.m., so that the readers are not disturbed.
Please register by phone or at the library by Friday, December 15th at 5:00 p.m.
