Weekly Programs

Preschool story times: Tuesday & Friday: 10:30 a.m.; Thursdays at 4:15 p.m.
Story times are for children ages 2 and older & their families or caregivers.
An adult must remain with children during the program. Free; no registration. Location: Children’s Activity Room

Lap Sit every Monday at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. in the children’s activity room. This program is for babies, toddlers, and their parents or caregivers. Make new friends, listen to simple stories, and learn finger plays and songs with Miss Gail. On January 21, Amanda Bean will return to lead the lap sit, as Miss Gail will not be available.

Wednesdays: Music & Fun with Miss Gail. For children ages 2 and older and their parents or caregivers. Time: 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. Place: Walnut Room, second floor of the library. Please bring a towel or a mat. Free; no registration.
No program on January 2nd, as the library will not be open until noon, or on January 16.

Lego Builders Club
Saturday, January 12th:  2 to 3:30 p.m.

Place: Walnut & Elm Rooms
Children in preschool through grade 6 will have the opportunity to build with the library’s collection of Lego blocks. Children who are 8 & younger must be accompanied by an adult. No fee or registration. Come and build and have fun! Structures will be on display for 3 weeks in cases near the children’s area and elevator.

Events on Martin Luther King, Jr., Day
Monday, January 21st

“Reading to the Kids!”
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Walnut & Elm Rooms

Children of all ages and their families or caregivers are invited to listen to stories and make a simple craft. Free; no registration. Children age 8 & younger must be accompanied by an adult.

***Every child, 12 and younger, who attends the “Reading to the Kids!” program will receive a free book***

Reading to the Dogs!

Saturday, January 19th: 2 to 3 p.m.; Place: Walnut & Elm Rooms

Registration required by Friday, January 18th
Presented by members of Caring Paws. Come and read to a certified therapy dog. There might be a rabbit or a cat, too. Readers should bring a book from home or select one when they arrive at the library. This program is for children ages 4 and older.
Please note: Visitors, other than the parents and siblings of children who are reading to the dogs, are welcome to greet the dogs and talk to therapy dog team members only at 3 p.m., so that the readers are not disturbed.

Valentine’s Day Crafts
Saturday, January 26th: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Place: Walnut & Elm Rooms

Children of all ages and their families or caregivers will have an opportunity to be creative and make cards and decorations for Valentine’s Day. Children who are 8 years old and younger must have an adult stay with them. No registration or fee.
