Preschool story times: Tuesday & Friday: 10:30 a.m.; Thursdays at 4:00 p.m.
Story times are for children ages 2 and older and their caregivers.
August 30, September 1 & 2: A story about surprises: Argus
September 5: Labor Day. The library will be closed
September 6, 8 & 9: A classic story, The Little Red Hen, will be read.
September 13, 15, & 16: New books, including: All the Way to America.
September 20, 22, & 23: New books: Captain Small Pig and Where's Walrus?
September 27, 29 & 30: Kids will laugh as they listen to a new silly story, Aliens Love Underpants. Alien craft. .
Please note: If you plan to bring a group or class to story time that contains 8 or more children, please call the library at least 3 days in advance of your visit and talk to one of the children’s librarians. We want to have enough craft materials ready. Thank you
Lap Sit every Monday at 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. in the children’s activity room. This program is for babies, toddlers and their families or caregivers. Make new friends while listening to simple stories.
No lap sit on September 5.
Saturday, September 10: Reading to the Dogs & Cat Time: 2:00 to 3:00. Elm room Registration required by Friday, September 9. This program is for children ages 4 to 11. Children may bring a favorite book from home or select books in the children’s area of the library. Children who are not yet reading and other interested patrons are invited to visit and pet the dogs at 3 p.m.
Saturday, September 10: Panda Express Children’s Activity Time: 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. Walnut Room. Children will learn how to use chopsticks, watch a short movie about pandas, and receive a small snack and coloring page. Registration will NOT be required. .
Note to Families: Because of the Purdue football games on two weekends and the Feast of the Humters’ Moon at Fort Ouiatenon, there will be no other special children’s programs this month. We will have craft days for Halloween, Thanksgiving and the winter holidays this semester and will host a “family fun day” on November 6. Please check the library web page later in the fall for dates and more information about these events and others that are still being planned
Come & listen to poems about food at Global Fest, Saturday, September 3.
Make a simple craft, too.
