Summer Reading Kickoff

Summer Reading kicks off with special visitors on Chauncey Plaza. Make art at the Flourish Mobile, visit a firefighter and check out WLFD No. 1’s engine, play a game and win a prize! Cuddle a therapy dog, play in the plaza with sidewalk chalk and pop some bubbles!

Greater Lafayette Fairy Tale performers will be on the Plaza too. Meet Prism, a fairy from the Color Kingdom whose job is to explore the human world and catalogue new colors to bring back to her kingdom.

You’ll also find balloon twisting, shaved ice, and, of course, help with signing up for the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge in Beanstack. All are welcome! We have summer challenges for kids, teens and adults! Help us to Color Our World this summer at the library.
