We’ve been dying to host an escape room at WLPL and thanks to our friends at Purdue InfoSecurity we can!
Grab your friends and form a team (or come solo) and see if YOU have what it takes to earn your spot at the elite WilLPoLe Intelligence Agency. We’ll have an escape room, cipher course, snacks, prizes, and more.
Tuesday, April 30, 6:00 – 7:30. Grades 7 – 12 only. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Thanks to an exciting new partnership with Purdue’s Reach Out for Computer Science (ROCS) students and a grant from Tipmont REMC, we will be offering a weekly drop-in Coding Club Feb 19 – April 23 for any students currently in grades 4-12 or homeschool equivalent. Each week is an opportunity to dip your toe into a new project or continue to increase your skills under the guidance of Purdue Computer Science student!
Everyone is invited to take part in West Lafayette Public Library’s first ever Peeps Diorama Gallery! Families, friends, or individuals can create a diorama of Peeps living their lives, maybe even based on a book, movie, or current event of your choice. Bring it to the Library for our gallery and be part of a new community tradition! Submitted dioramas will be on display for the community to admire during the month of May.
Diorama Gallery Guidelines:
Diorama should be made using a shoebox (or box with similar dimensions).
All characters must be Peeps.
You may use other materials for costumes, props, and scenery/set.
Include the title of your diorama on the front of the shoebox or on a title card.
Your name and contact information must be on the back.
Make sure your diorama is transportable and shelf-stable.
Dioramas should be brought to the library between April 26 and April 30.
Dioramas must be picked up between June 1 – 5. All remaining entries will be discarded on June 6.
We are excited to be offering a series of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) programming again this spring, led by our dynamic STEM Assistant duo. Watch the Children’s page for info on programs for kids currently enrolled in grades 4-6 (or homeschool equivalent), and our Teen page for events for grades 7 – 12.
Program registration is strongly encouraged for each event. Follow the links on each page to our sign-up forms and for contact information.
