Library By Mail

We understand that sometimes life makes it difficult to get to the library. For patrons that have difficulties regularly visiting the library, we’re glad to now offer Library By Mail service.

Who is eligible?

Patrons living in the West Lafayette Public Library district

AND

Are physically unable to visit the library due to disability or infirmity (permanent or temporary) OR do not have adequate transportation to regularly visit the library

How do I sign up for this service?

Patrons that are interested in Library By Mail service should fill out the application below. A staff member will be in contact to discuss the service details.

If you do not have a library card, you will be issued one. This will give you access to both physical and digital materials.

During your phone call from staff, you’ll be asked about your reading preferences and preferred formats.

What is the borrowing process?

Library staff or volunteers will select 3-5 books that fit your reading preferences. Those books will be delivered to you via USPS.

When you are ready to return, use the mailer and prepaid postage to send back to WLPL. We’ll also include a feedback form so you can rate our selections and request any special titles or authors next.

Once the library receives your returns, we’ll process and ship your new selections.
