NOW HIRING: 2019-2020 STEAM Library Assistant

We are looking for our next STEAM Library Assistant! If you are excited about trying new things and have an interest in education, this might be the right fit for you! Get the full details on this unique, challenging, and fun at

Be a STEAM Mentor!
Grade range: 9-12 (or homeschool equivalent)
The West Lafayette Public Library offers STEAM programs and we need your help! Students currently enrolled in grades 9-12 can become volunteer STEAM Mentors and assist in planning and presenting programs with the Teen Librarian and STEM Library Assistant. Volunteers in this program need to have an interest in working with children, love trying new things, and be able to serve as a positive role model. This is a great stepping stone to an opportunity for the STEAM Library Assistant position, or a perfect way to get involved with a less rigorous time commitment.
Time commitment: STEAM Mentors have one planning meeting per month Sept – May for about two hours and help with a youth program once per month for about two hours (4 hours or less per month). Mentors are expected to attend at least half of all meetings and events.

Earn service hours, gain job experience, and have fun volunteering at West Lafayette Public Library in the YA/Teen department! Volunteers will assist summer reading participants, create displays, help with programs, and learn light library tasks. This position works with Jr/Sr High students ONLY and does not do activities with the children’s department. Contact with questions or to apply!
