Spooks & Slices: “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” (1978)

BYOC — Bring Your Own Candy!  Join us at the Library on Sunday, Oct. 23rd, for a screening of 1978’s “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”.  These events are sponsored by Arni’s Restaurant.  Patrons can look forward to free Arni’s pizza, giveaway prizes, and plenty of scares!

When strange seeds drift to earth from space, mysterious pods begin to grow and invade San Francisco, replicating the city’s residents one body at a time (from IMDB.com).  Though many iterations of this film have been released over the decades, the 1978 version starring Donald Sutherland and Leonard Nimoy is often singled-out.  Stunning performances abound, and late 1970’s Hollywood allows the weirder elements of this sci-fi horror flick to be better represented.

Doors will open at 3:00 PM for patrons to grab some pizza and a good seat.  This program is for adult patrons, and requires no registration.  The film is rated “PG”, so viewer discretion is advised before attending.
