Women in Engineering offers another great opportunity for kids to learn at the library! Students will consider how an engineer can solve real world problems by using the engineering design process. Students are challenged with designing and creating their own sun protection device, whether it be glasses, a hat, or another product to help a specific character be protected from sunlight or even reduce their allergies. Students will learn about materials engineering, biomedical engineering, and visual design engineering, agricultural engineering, and even nuclear engineering (UV radiation from the sun) while creating a functional product with compassionate design in mind.
