Dear America and the Undocumented Immigrant Experience

We are excited to work once again with our partners across Purdue University to join in a book discussion series centered on Dear America: Notes of an Undocumented Citizen by journalist and filmmaker Jose Antonio Vargas. The meetings will take place throughout March and are free to attend.

Dear America was called “A thought-provoking, moving, and highly personal memoir of Vargas’s struggle to belong. Recommended for all readers interested in immigration issues and American identity.”–Library Journal, Oct 15, 2018.

Free copies of the book are available to registrants on request as supplies last.

The book discussion takes place in anticipation of Vargas’s engagement in Purdue University’s Pursuing Racial Justice Together speaker series on April 8, 2021.

This book group is a community collaboration between the Purdue Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center (AAARCC) Reading Program, Purdue Latino Cultural Center (LCC) Lit Club, West Lafayette Public Library, and Purdue Immigrant Allies.
